Running a little late, my partner and I grab an obligatory bottle of Prosecco before heading down to the theatre of The Latest Music Bar. We were greeted by a tall, handsome, soldier King with a moustache and two builder 'guys' and our hands were stamped.  We took our seats as we watched a non-binary crowd flipping the bird to gender normality.

A crowd of quiffs, tit tap...

In yesterday's news, we sadly heard about the passing of Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. Many people like Chester suffer with their mental health which is why we all need to raise awareness and get people talking.

Artist Kalee Jones supports Grassroots suicide prevention through her art project 'Show Your Bones.' Kalee usually donates 50% of proceeds made from her A6 prints (pack of 6) to Grassroots. This recent news p...

A few years ago whilst organising exhibitions and arty things here and there, I asked people around the world to send me a postcard. I used to collect postcards when I was younger. There's something really beautiful and poetic about a snippet of time from a place that's not home. A small page to fit a short story, encouraging one to be creative with their single paragraph.

I did get quite a few postcards. The rules were,...

Written by Cess Frangi

Rushing to the venue after having hastily devoured a veggie burger that somehow took the diner next door 35 minutes to assemble, I find myself in a dark basement, surrounded by laughter, listening to what appears to be a talking light bulb. It's Ian. Ian was there, and he remembers. We're gonna party like it's 1989.

Three performers in retro-futuristic outfits - reminiscent of Björk's “Big Time Sensuality”...

In recent years, there have been many stories, movies and articles written on the forgotten women of history. Hidden Figures came out last year portraying the African-American women who served a vital role in NASA, as well as forgotten women who helped us win wars, female writers and artists who used their husbands names. The story of The Great Train Robbery by Scratchworks Theatre could not be more relev...

I've been lucky enough to be selected to volunteer at The Warren this year and it's been really fun so far. I have seen a few clips, bit and bobs, heard reviews, had some training. So without actually seeing all of the shows there, I've managed to put together my top 10 recommendations.

The Warren is free to enter without seeing any shows so you don't have to fork out to have a good time. The Warren has t...

Two Brighton creatives, Rose and Tara have put their heads together to create a new and exciting art market, The Hanover Bazaar. The Fair will be taking place at Happy Days Nursery, Coleman Street in Hanover of course on May 13th from 11:00-16:00. The day will be filled with amazing art of various forms, plenty of great food and festival music. It's a great venue, hosting a beautiful, sun trap gard...

I personally think if you start with a name as good as Fannytasticals, the rest is bound to be great! Or fannytastic should I say?! The fannies are a group of 6 women bringing us a wonderfully hilarious show described by them as 'a feminine cabaret style production of lewd, rude and crude gendered topics, including live music, skits and sketches.'

I was lucky enough to know someo...

How cute is Tidy Print? I love everything about it. I can't wait to do a screen printing workshop with them. Owned by Dan and Jade, they're based in the heart of Brighton Laines, on Gloucester Road with its beautiful bright green exterior. I met Dan at a Market at Green Door Store where he had a Tidy Print Stall filled with really well-designed contemporary prints perfect for a modern home. I was really drawn by the artwork on...

RARE Art, Brighton Launch

A breath of fresh air on Brighton's seafront art scene. Amber-Jane Raab has taken over from Vivid Palette and has filled the space with her own huge body of colourful and unique pieces. I was invited to come along to the launch party where my friends and I were greeted with a lovely glass of bubbly and shown around the gallery, all of the staff and artist, Raab were very happy to chat to us about the g...
